The Cubs placed left-hander Mike Montgomery on the 10-day disabled list (retroactive to Tuesday) with left shoulder inflammation and recalled lefty Randy Rosario from Triple-A Iowa on Friday. Right-hander Tyler Chatwood will start against the Pirates at PNC Park on Saturday in place of Montgomery.
After dealing with injuries for much of the season, Rockies left-handed relief pitcher Mike Dunn threw a simulated game Friday and is scheduled begin a Minor League rehab assignment next week. The plan is to have the veteran Dunn back as a member of the bullpen in September.
