If you need something to hit replay on, tune into Chloe x Halle‘s harmonizing performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk (Home) Concert.
The sister duo traded their heavenly harmonies singing songs from their sophomore album, Ungodly Hour, accompanied by a nine-piece women-only orchestra.
Chloe x Halle made their performance feel right at home, singing barefoot while sitting on a desk in a studio surrounded by curtains, plants, crystals and other calming items, yet channeling the same electrifying spirit as their outdoor tennis performances over the past few months.
“I know this year 2020 has been absolutely bonkers for all of us and for those moments where you kinda feel less than… like you’re not good enough,” said Chloe, before performing “Baby Girl.” “That’s why we wrote this song for ourselves as a mantra to let ourselves know that whatever happens we will be ok and this is our world.”
Chloe x Halle also performed “Don’t Make It Harder on Me” and their Grammy-nominated single, “Do It,” followed by a fun breakdown before “Ungodly Hour” and “Wonder What She Thinks of Me.”
2020 was truly a breakout year for the sister duo, signed to Beyoncé‘s Parkwood Entertainment label. After its release in June, Ungodly Hour debuted at #2 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart and recently landed three Grammy nominations, including one for Best Progressive R&B album.
That in part has earned Chloe x Halle the Rising Star Award at Billboard‘s 15th Annual Women in Music Event, which will stream live Thursday, December 10 at BillboardWomenInMusic.com at 8 p.m. ET.
