Rick Guest/Interscope RecordsAfter recently postponing its 2020 U.K. and Ireland concerts until 2021 because of the coronavirus, The Who has now announced plans to move the upcoming U.S. leg of its ongoing Moving On! Tour, which was to have taken place in April and May from the spring, to the fall of this year.
A message on the band’s official website reports that the shows are being postponed “out of an abundance of caution,” while noting that “[a]s soon as we have the dates finalized we’ll share the updated schedule, and all tickets will be honored accordingly.”
The post adds, “Both Pete [Townshend] and Roger [Daltrey] — and the rest of The Who band — cannot wait to get out there and be with you all and share in some great music.”
The stateside trek was to have run from an April 21 concert in Hollywood, Florida, through a six-date Las Vegas residency spanning from May 5 through May 16.
In other news, The Who confirmed a new date for its recently postponed performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall, which originally was scheduled to take place March 29 as part of the 2020 edition of the Teenage Cancer Trust benefit concert series. The show now will be held on March 21, 2021. Most of this year’s Teenage Cancer Trust concerts have been canceled.
