Epic RecordsMetallica‘s Lars Ulrich is soundtracking his quarantine experience with Rage Against the Machine.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, the drummer says he’s listened to the reunited rap-metal titans “the most” amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Am I the only one who thinks that their music just grows more and more relevant every day?” Ulrich says. “It connects more and more to what’s going on in the world. It just feels like all four of those albums were recorded last week.”
Ulrich adds that he’ll often get his Rage on while doing his “sad little exercises.”
“I’ll put them on and go, like, ‘Holy f***,'” he says. “[I’ll] just hear something in ‘Calm Like a Bomb’ or ‘Sleep Now in the Fire’ or ‘Bombtrack,’ and go, ‘Seriously? What the f***? Where does this even come from?’ So Rage Against the Machine is always a reliable friend.”
As for any more current releases, Ulrich says he’s digging the new Fiona Apple album Fetch the Bolt Cutters, and Earth by EOB, Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien‘s solo project.
